The Story of Isa & Yolanda Lindwall The Roots of Releasing In his early days as a Chiropractor, Dr. Isa Lindwall built a thriving practice in Atlanta, Georgia. During the 60s and 70s, while he was busy with maintaining his successful practice, Dr. Lindwall noticed that after bringing his clients’ bodies to a healthy alignment, his patients would often return with the same bone or joint being out of position, needing another adjustment. With time, Dr. Lindwall began to understand that an underlying emotional issue or limiting concept was causing a recurring problem with his patient’s bones, joints or body posture. Even if he successfully treated the malady, the patient’s unresolved and often deep-rooted emotional feelings, anxieties, conflicts or fears would cause the physical problem to recur. As Dr. Lindwall began to help his patients work through and resolve these emotional issues, he saw that the body’s physical ailment was permanently healed. Perhaps more importantly, he noticed a marked improvement with his patient’s overall well-being, self-esteem and outlook. Isa came to realize and experience that, once brought into loving and non-judgmental awareness, the release of these limiting concepts and negative emotions can happen in an instant, and that it is this letting go that leads to profound changes in his patients. And so Releasing was born. As Isa began to work through powerful emotional healing experiences with his patients, his wife Yolanda – who was his office administrator at the time – began to organize workshops and counseling sessions to help more and more people experience deep and lasting emotional and physical healing. As word spread, large numbers of people were drawn to Isa and Yolanda’s growing workshops and counseling sessions, and the demand became overwhelming. This began in 1978, and in 1984 Isa and Yolanda decided to leave their practice to dedicate their lives to bringing the Releasing process to the continually growing numbers of people who needed guidance in healing traumas and heartbreaking life experiences. Teaching Releasing Around the World For more than 20 years, the Lindwalls have given lectures and conducted workshops in many different countries around the world. In the 1980s they began working in Germany and other countries in Europe, helping heal the traumatic aftermath of World War II and the Cold War. The presence of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain were a constant reminder that freedom did not exist for those separated from the West. Working in both East and West Berlin, the Lindwalls brought Releasing workshops and programs that helped neutralize this despair and establish hope for a new future. When the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, the Lindwalls were filled with joy as they received pieces of the Wall in the mail from friends in Germany, affirming their vision of freedom and liberation. In the 1990s, Isa and Yolanda extended their work to other countries around the world, including nations emerging from Soviet political rule such as East Germany, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Romania. Following the attempted counter-revolutionary coup in the Soviet Union, the Lindwalls brought their programs to Russia and a Releasing workshop was held in Moscow on August 22, 1991 – just two days after the coup ended. Following this event, Isa and Yolanda taught additional classes in Tver, St. Petersburg, Latvia and Lithuania. Since 1997 the Lindwalls made special efforts to work in the troubled nations of South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe, spending several months each year giving Releasing workshops and sessions. In 2001 they also extended their activities to South America, holding workshops in Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. Over more than three decades the Lindwalls and the Lindwall Foundation have taken their work to 38 countries around the world. Remembering Isa Lindwall In 2007, just short of his 88th birthday, Dr. Isa Lindwall passed away. Given his untiring dedication and love to help the people in many countries and from many walks of life with his extraordinary healing work, he is deeply and profoundly missed. Shortly after his passing, around the US, from New York to San Francisco, groups came together to remember Isa. On the island of Hawaii, a group gathered on Kailua Beach and laid out a flower wreath lei in the form of a heart on the sand, thanking Isa for the love and light he had brought into their lives, and kissing him with the Sun not far from the sea which he loved so much. In Germany groups gathered in various locations in remembrance. One group held a two hour candlelight ceremony, which concluded with sending the light into the sky in the form of sparklers attached to heart-shaped balloons. Perhaps the greatest tribute to the inspiration that Isa and his wife Yolanda brought, are the many ways that Releasing not only continues, but thrives and flourishes around the world. Isa rejoiced to hear of these activities right up until his passing. Messages and remembrances of Isa Lindwall (Read more...) |
